Congratulations to Gardens Home Management, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, for earning accreditation in the NHWA for a second consecutive year. 

President and CEO Charles “Chip” Sollins has grown GHM into one of the larger home services companies in Palm Beach County.  A graduate of the University of Maryland, Chip began his career by founding American Pool Service Enterprises of Maryland, and eventually grew its operations to cover 12 states. After relocating his family to Florida, Chip served as president and CEO of Prime Management Group of Boca Raton. He grew the company to over 1,300 employees and serviced over 100,000 clients throughout southwest Florida.

Since taking the helm at GHM, Chip has once again grown a small company into a multi-faceted service company that serves all of Palm Beach County.

York Home Watch, of York Region, Ontario, has joined the NHWA!

York Home Watch of York Region, Ontario, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA.

York Home Watch is located in York Region, a regional municipality in the Greater Toronto Area. It is owned by Jamie Al-Jbouri, who has managed member golf clubs and clubhouse facilities for over 14 years.  Utilizing his skills in customer service, along with his strong attention to detail, Jamie created York Home Watch in April 2015 to be a reliable and trustworthy option for homeowners who need someone to check on their home while they are away.

With more and more residents traveling to warmer climates during the winter or taking extended summer vacations, Jamie realized there was potential for a Home Watch business in his area.  With everyone having busy schedules, it can sometimes be challenging to arrange for a neighbour, family member or friend to watch over someone else’s home.

Jamie has been a proud homeowner in York Region, with his wife and two children, for the past 12 years.

Paragon Home Watch of West Kelowna, British Columbia, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA.

Proprietor Dan Bennett was born and raised in Ottawa, and moved to Toronto in 2004. He and his wife, Janice, moved to Kelowna in 2014 for a lifestyle change.

The Central Okanagan is a popular destination for retirees and people who seek seasonal residences to enjoy a peaceful lifestyle, while taking in the breathtaking natural beauty of the mountains and Lake Okanagan. With many retirees going down south in the winter months, there is an ongoing need for a trustworthy and reliable service to keep watch over homes while they are away. Dan realized that with the ever-increasing popularity of season residence, there is a growing need for Home Watch and home liaison services; thus, Paragon Home Watch was born.

Dan was involved with public relations and fundraising for two major, national charitable organizations before going to college in 1998 to study Information Technology. Most recently, he has had over eight years in management-level positions in client service, operations, policy and procedures and deployment, which has provided Dan invaluable experience and appreciation of the importance in providing the highest possible level of customer satisfaction and accountability.

Dan and Janice have been married for over 20 years. Their hobbies are hockey, their pets, walking, cycling, and traveling.

Home Inspections Plus of Sarasota, FL, gains fourth-year Accredited Member status!

Greetings and salutations!

Home Inspections Plus of Sarasota, FL, has gained fourth-year Accredited Member status in the NHWA.

Owner Sandra VanSuch and her husband, Jim, moved to Florida from Ohio in 1991. She started her Home Watch business in 2005 for some friends of the family, and it grew from there. In 2011, Sandra and Jim, a Licensed Home Inspector, merged their businesses to form Home Inspections Plus, adding a bonus for her clients. Sandra knows how to spot potential problems and can enlist Jim and his expertise when needed for extra-tough-to-diagnose issues. 

Home Inspections Plus was the first Home Watch business in Central Florida to be accredited by the NHWA. Sandra initially sought accreditation because the State of Florida has no licensing for Home Watch companies. Sandra felt that her accreditation by the NHWA, along with her insurance and bonding, would give her clients proof of her commitment to set her business standards above and beyond the expectations for the industry. She takes this to heart daily when caring for her clients’ homes.  

Sandra and Jim were high-school sweethearts and have two wonderful daughters, whom they treasure. In today’s busy world, they try to spend quality down-time together as a family. Sandra and her family are committed to helping meet the needs of a very special organization called Everyday Blessings, a foster home for children to keep siblings together who have been removed from their families due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. 

Sandra has recently been appointed to the NHWA's Advisory Board. We have also had the pleasure of spending time with her at our First and Second Annual North American Conferences.

Safe & Sound Home Services, of Seaford, Virginia, has gained second-year Accredited Member status in the NHWA.  

Owner Jim Hughes founded Safe & Sound in 2008, in the exclusive shore communities of New Jersey. When he moved to Hampton Roads, VA, he expanded his business.

Jim has been involved in residential construction since 1980, as a carpenter, roofing and siding contractor, construction project manager, executive protection and security specialist, and construction consultant. He has also performed work in the area of estate property management. Jim is a licensed home inspector in New Jersey and Virginia, a licensed real estate agent, and a USCG-licensed 100-Ton Master, Captain.
