Jack Luber
 Executive Director

Greetings and salutations.

Homewatch Services, Etc. of Bonita Springs, FL, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA for the second consecutive year.  Carl Lorenzini's company was founded by his father, Edward, in 2002. A successful Realtor in the local market, Edward founded a true family business, dedicated to taking care of the homes of clients whom he met through his real estate dealings. Soon, Carl became the driving force behind the business and built it up to what it is today: a well-respected company with family values that looks out for its clients' best interests at all times. Carl's sister Karinna is also an integral part of the business, assisting with home inspections and whatever needs doing. 2013 was a pretty big year for Carl on a personal level, marrying his beautiful wife Brittany!

Wild weather emphasizes the need for Home Watch.

Jack Luber
Executive Director
Greetings and salutations.

Well, it's Sunday. That means that another week of wild weather is about to occur. The West Coast is getting bombarded with rain and snow, while the middle of the country is freezing and getting more snow. The northeast is preparing for another pounding. A member in Canada reports over 13 feet of snow so far. Atlanta was a mess after their last storm, and even here in Myrtle Beach, we had a cold snap with snow and ice that crippled us. Even Mickey Mouse was wearing thermals! So what can you do to protect your home and property in your absence? Home Watch, of course! Home Watch companies are there to keep an eye on your place while you are off in the sun enjoying yourselves. Lakefront Members of the NHWA will also keep an eye on docks and boats. The NHWA is an alliance of Home Watch companies offering services that give you, the absentee homeowner, peace of mind during your time away from your place. Our members uphold the highest of ethics and confidentiality, while keeping your best interests in mind. They are vetted for proper insurance coverage, bonding, issues with consumer affairs, and their commitment to adhering to very strict standards of operation. When choosing a Home Watch company, look for our logo, and don't hesitate to call us for confirmation of membership. There are some companies in Arizona and Florida that are falsely claiming to be members, so don't be fooled.  Thanks for reading.

Best,

Jack

House Watch & More, of Punta Gorda, FL, has earned Accredited Member status in the NHWA!

Jack Luber, Executive Director

Greetings and salutations!

House Watch & More, of Punta Gorda, FL, has earned Accredited Member status in the NHWA!

Owners Faith and Ed Gibson have been homeowners at Burnt Store Marina for over 10 years and love living in that resort Community.  There are approximately 2,000 homes there, and many are second or investment properties.  These homes are left vacant much of the year until the "season" arrives, and then the population swells with snowbirds.

Living there full time, they have seen and experienced first-hand what can happen when a home is left vacant and unattended for long periods of time without having anyone checking on the property. An example was when one of the elevators was out of commission for months due to a prolonged water leak in a vacant unit.  It flooded the elevator shaft, and there was a musty odor throughout the first floor of the building.  As we all know, this could have been detected early--and extensive damage avoided--if the owners had a Home Watch service.

After seeing the damage unattended homes could incur, Faith and Ed decided to offer their services and started House Watch & More.  They knew that there was a need in their community for an experienced, reliable, on-site professional company to assist their absentee neighbors in monitoring the condition of their Florida possessions.

Ed owned a construction company for over 30 years and decided he wanted a change.  Faith’s background is banking, and she had recently started a website promoting their community.
