Fall is here already? and Home Inspections Plus of Sarasota, Fl

Greetings and salutations to all.

I cannot believe that summer has actually ended. You couldn't tell by the weather here in Coastal South Carolina. Today we will be at almost 90 degrees. If this is fall, I can't wait for winter to get here. I have been very busy with my company, Coastal Carolina Home Watch, having opened a second location in the Charleston, SC area. Things are hopping, and I am very excited.

I have also been busy promoting the Home Watch industry. I just attended the NC/SC Association of Realtors "Come Together" conference in Savannah, GA. I met a lot of people and was able to gather a lot of very good information that will be useful to our members. More about that in an upcoming blog.

I am proud to announce that Jim and Sandra VanSuch and their Sarasota, FL, based Home Inspections Plus have earned accreditation for the second year in a row.

Jim and Sandra founded Home Inspections Plus in order to provide peace of mind to customers in need of home inspection and Home Watch services.

As an Owner/Inspector, Jim is Florida licensed and trained in the very latest home inspection standards.  Jim is an associate member of ASHI (The American Society of Home Inspectors), the premier national home inspector organization.  He is also certified by AHIT as a certified home inspector.  Jim's goal is to accurately and objectively help clients understand the true condition of the property he is inspecting, in a professional and detailed manner.

Sandra has been providing Home Watch services since 2005. Because the State of Florida does not require licensing for Home Watch providers, Home Inspections Plus is very serious about maintaining the standards required by the NHWA, because customer confidence is of the utmost importance to them. Residents of Sarasota since 1990, Jim and Sandra are the proud parents of two daughters. They love the beach, sports, and enjoying all that Sarasota has to offer.

Home Inspections Plus serves Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Visit their website at hipsarasota.com for more information. Congratulations again, Jim and Sandra. We appreciate your participation.

Until next time, I wish you all

Much Success.

Savannah: A beautiful place - SC and NC Realtors Come Together!

Greetings, Y'all!

I love the South. Warm weather, warm smiles, and warm welcomes. The North Carolina Association of Realtors came together with the South Carolina Association of Realtors in beautiful Savannah,Georgia, from September 8th through the 11th. I was there representing the NHWA, while promoting the Home Watch industry. Every time I speak to groups of Realtors, I am more and more convinced of their importance to our industry. You cannot believe how many of them are actually doing their own type of Home Watch. They are doing it...and are not to happy about it. One woman told me that she has a drawer full of keys from clients' homes. "They expect me to check their house out every time there's a storm. I'm not responsible OR insured for that." Another realtor told me, "People ask me all the time to keep an eye on their house, and I always say no. I have to. It's way too much work, and I have too many other things to do." The general consensus of most Realtors that I spoke with is that they would absolutely recommend Home Watch to their clients.

Another big plus from attending these expos is the ability to meet with representatives from banks, mortgage companies, insurance providers, home warranty companies, and other real estate affiliated industries. Cross-marketing is always a possibility, as is getting new ideas about your business from them. I made many new contacts, and will be following up with a lot of them in the coming days. I will be speaking with NHWA members about some very profitable ideas in our next newsletter. There are so many income sources that are available to us, we just have to take the steps to make them a reality.

The convention was successful and enjoyable, and I am confident that it spread the word about our industry to a lot of people that needed to know about it. The National Association of Realtors continues to learn about our existence and who we represent. I would love to be able to attend other states' conventions and have Accredited Members be there with me representing the NHWA.
On a side note, I don't know if you've seen the movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," but I went looking for the Mercer-Williams House in the gorgeous historical district of Savannah. I saw it at night, with its uplighting casting an eerie glow on the walls of the mansion. I also found the bench that Forrest Gump told his story from.

Much success,

Jack

The NC and SC Realtors Associations "Come Together" in Savannah, Ga.

Greetings and salutations all.

I hope that all of you had a great summer and finished off with a very relaxing Labor Day. While Labor Day may be the official end of summer, there is still a whole lot of good times to be had. Of course, this time of year brings tropical storms and hurricanes with it. Homeowners: are your storm plans in place? Home Watch companies: have you gotten together with clients to plan? Just a reminder to all.

This Sunday and Monday, I will be at the North Carolina and South Carolina Associations of Realtors Come Together Conference and Expo in Savannah, Ga. The event is being hosted by the NC Association of Realtors, and will be attended by a lot of heavyweights from the real estate industry. They are expecting 1000 realtors to attend. This will be the NHWA's second expo of the year, and will hopefully bring more exposure to the Home Watch industry. It is very important to get the word out to Realtors and let them know who we are, and why Home Watch is important to the real estate industry.  Because of our presence in the great state of Florida, Massachusetts, and Nevada,  I would like to have the National Home Watch Association represented at events there in the coming year.

I will report on the conference, and how we were able to advance the cause when I get back next week from Savannah. Until then, as always, I wish y'all

Much success.
