Las Vegas Home Watchers is the first Member to gain Accredited Member status in the NHWA for the FIFTH consecutive year!

Owners Dan and Ginni Kruger have a simple philosophy: “Do the right thing, in the right way, at the right time, in the right place, to the right person, for the right reason, with the right feeling…THE FIRST TIME!” That's quite a mouthful, but after six years in business, it has proven to be a successful business philosophy. Dan and Ginni service clients from the famous to the not-so-famous, and their business continues to grow.

Dan also serves on the NHWA Advisory Board.

A Nebraska native and graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Dan is the company's president. He started out as a teacher, but joined the corporate world and stayed there for 34 years, holding executive positions in consumer products, technology and healthcare. Ginni, who serves as treasurer, has owned and operated three different small businesses. Ginni and Dan have been married for 44 years. Together they've raised three children and now have two grandchildren.

Dan is an avid Atlanta Braves fan. If there's no game on TV, you'll find him listening to it on Sirius/XM. Ginni and Dan are also very active in community organizations.

Dan and Ginni are excited to be attending the National Conference in Myrtle Beach again this year. They say that last year's Conference was so great, they're anxious to meet more Members of the NHWA, share the knowledge, and learn what's new.

Payson Home Watch, of Payson, AZ, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA!

Payson Home Watch has gained Accredited Member status in the National Home Watch Association.

Chris and Kathy Abbott moved to Payson, Arizona, in 2008 and have been Arizona residents for over 30 years. Over the past several years, they have been performing informal home watch activities for realtors, friends, and neighbors. After careful research and finding the NHWA, they decided to make it official and launch Payson Home Watch.  

Chris spent 32 years in national and regional account management roles with major corporations in the consumer products, building materials, and irrigation industries. He is also a licensed landscaping/irrigation contractor and has owned and operated a landscape business since 1995. Chris earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Iowa State University.  Kathy has been a Registered Nurse for over 25 years and earned her Bachelor of Science – Nursing Degree from Grand View College.

Chris and Kathy enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that Payson and the Rim Country offers, including golf, hiking, running, and mountain biking.  They’re active participants and volunteers at the Payson Community Garden and Payson Humane Society.

Home Sitters, Inc., of Osterville, MA, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA for the second consecutive year.

Owners Pete and Janet Barattini have been serving Cape Cod with Home Watch and caretaking since 1985. In 1998, they started Home Sitters, Inc. as a full-time business. They are fully committed to their customers, assuring them a beautiful summer on spectacular Cape Cod.

Pete’s previous career was with ADP Corp. He’s a member of the Barnstable Citizens Police Academy.

Janet runs the office and the lines of communication with their associates. Her family has lived on Cape Cod for many generations. She is a graduate of Bryant University.

We've had the distinct pleasure of spending time with Pete during our first two North American Conferences in Myrtle Beach. We're trying to convince Janet to come with Pete to this year's Conference in September. (Come on, Janet!)

Pete and Janet have been married for 24 years and have four children.

Come to Myrtle Beach in September! Our 2nd Annual Conference has been scheduled!

I am very happy to announce that the National Home Watch Association will be holding its second Annual Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC, this September 18th through the 21st. After last year's success at our inaugural Conference, 2014's version looks to be even bigger and better. This year's attendees will learn about insurance, marketing, technology and reporting, personal safety and profit enhancement. Our keynote speakers will speak about a variety of subjects, many of which have been suggested as "hot topics" in the Home Watch industry. We will have a "meet-and-greet" cocktail party, a great dinner, and a farewell breakfast. The cost to attend is only $275 for a company's first Member and a discounted rate for additional Members and spouses. We will once again be staying at the Hampton Inn at Broadway at the Beach. Rooms are being offered at the very low rate of $89 per night.

Castle Home Checks, Inc., of Greensboro, GA, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA for the second consecutive year.

Greetings and salutations!

Castle Home Checks, Inc., of Greensboro, GA, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA for the second consecutive year.

CEO Sheila I.M. Smith was born in Surrey, England, and has a career history spanning some 25+ years in the UK. She brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to Castle Home Checks Inc., from selling and leasing homes to refurbishing and inventory work.

In the last year, Castle Home Checks has seen a steady increase in business. Sheila says that she and her husband, Wayne, are very fortunate to be able to live and work in Georgia’s lake country, where there has been a marked increase in the general “feel-good” factor in the community, and the economy has taken a turn for the better with the increase in new homes being built. Sheila and Wayne have just purchased another home and are very excited to continue putting down their roots there while supporting the local economy.

Before moving to the States, Sheila spent nine years as property manager in a prestigious, independent real estate agency based in Virginia Water, Surrey (which is home to the Wentworth Golf club). She managed upscale executive homes similar to those found in the Lake Oconee area. During this time, some of Sheila’s landlords and tenants were British and foreign royalty, celebrities and sports personalities, as well as presidents, CEOs, and executives of Fortune 500 companies (e.g., Coca-Cola, Goldman Sachs, IBM, and UPS).

Wayne had a very full and interesting career in the military Special Forces and as a law enforcement officer. He also has experience in disaster management. Wayne continues his volunteer work with the Old Salem Fire Department and has recently been appointed the Fire Boat Captain.

Sheila and Wayne met in the UK when he was involved in troubleshooting within the disaster management service. He began in employment, and then successfully owned his own company, dealing not only with the aftermath of fires and floods, where rapid response was required on a 24/7 basis in order to limit potential damage, but he also carried out residential and commercial refurbishments.
