Home Watch Unlimited Services of Orlando, FL, has gained second-year Accredited Member status in the NHWA!

Jack Luber, Executive Director

Greetings and salutations!

Home Watch Unlimited Services of Orlando, Florida, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA for the second consecutive year.

Owners José and Natalie Cruz are residents of the Dr. Phillips community in Orlando. They are former residents of Puerto Rico and are both fully bilingual.

In 2006, José and Natalie bought their vacation home in Orlando. The house would be closed for months at a time, and they worried about unpredictable emergencies that could arise while they were away. After moving permanently to Orlando, they conceived of the idea of a Home Watch business and related services in Central Florida to relieve the stress of owning a second home thousands of miles away. Home Watch Unlimited Services, LLC, was established in 2009, with the main purposes of offering peace of mind, relieving stress, giving a feeling of trust, reliability, and real customer service. All home requirements and personal needs are covered, from property maintenance to special concierge services, to home repairs and remodeling. They find this personal relationship with homeowners creates assurance that their home will be carefully attended to by trusted partners. Covering all the needs of so many people from different countries is a great responsibility. Besides the “snowbirds” from different US states, they have many international clients as well. This is a family business; they work as a team and are very proud of their achievements.

José has degrees in mechanical engineering, business administration, and interior design and decoration. He has vast experience in remodeling and general construction projects through his company in Puerto Rico. Natalie is an Accountant with extensive administrative and managing experience, having established and owned her own business for 30 years, also in Puerto Rico.

In her spare time, Natalie does volunteer work with her therapy dog, visiting hospitals, schools, universities, and also working with disabled children or those with autism, and cancer patients.

House Watch & More of Punta Gorda, FL, has gained second-year Accredited Member status!

Jack Luber, Executive Director

Greetings and salutations!

House Watch & More, of Punta Gorda, Florida, has earned Accredited Member status in the NHWA for the second consecutive year!

Owners Faith and Ed Gibson have been homeowners at Burnt Store Marina for over 11 years and love living in that resort Community. With approximately 2,000 homes there, many are second or investment properties. These homes are left vacant much of the year until the "season" arrives, and then the population swells with snowbirds.

Living there full time, Faith and Ed have seen and experienced first-hand what can happen when a home is left vacant and unattended for long periods of time without having anyone checking on the property. An example was when one of the elevators was out of commission for months due to a prolonged water leak in a vacant unit. It flooded the elevator shaft, and there was a musty odor throughout the entire first floor of the building. The problem could have been detected early--and extensive damage avoided--if the owners had used a Home Watch service.

Ed had previously owned a construction company for over 30 years and decided he wanted a change. Faith’s background was in banking, and she had recently started a website promoting their community.

After seeing the damage unattended homes could incur, they knew that there was a need in their community for an experienced, reliable, on-site professional company to assist their absentee neighbors in monitoring the condition of their Florida possessions. Faith and Ed decided to offer their services and started House Watch & More.

Since starting their business, word has gotten around about their expertise and determination to keep homes from experiencing costly damage and repairs while unattended. They have found problems with air conditioners that have stopped working, thermostats that need replacing, hot-water tank leaks, water intrusion from neighbors’ homes, cans of food that have "exploded," and overflowing toilets. If left unattended, these conditions can encourage mold growth, which can be expensive to treat and cause health problems.
