Jack Luber, Executive Director |
Greetings and salutations!
Hood Canal Home Watch, of Hood Canal, WA, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA.
Together,
owners Mike and Mary Wingren have over two decades of business ownership in the
customer-service industry. They chose to close down their previous business in
2000, as Mary was in the final year of earning her degree in Interior Design. Mike
went on to work for a large national company.
For
the last 12 years, Mary has pursued a career as a designer/project manager for
a couple of residential home builders in Gig Harbor and Silverdale. This time
allowed her to connect with all phases of construction, from a simple bathroom
to whole-house remodels. She liked designing and retrofitting houses for the
physical limitations of her clients most of all. “It's exciting to give a
person the freedom and independence to live comfortably and safely in their own
home,” says Mary. She looks at all remodeling requests as an opportunity to
create ease of use through universal design techniques.
While
Mary creates beneficial changes, Mike is the one who keeps all the plates
spinning. He is a natural “fix-it” guru, with a large touch of geek, too.
Everything in their home seems to have computer-driven components. Mike brings
his resourcefulness and technical knowledge to repair everything from heat pumps,
appliances, and sprinkler systems to general maintenance of a home. Combined,
Mike and Mary make a knowledgeable, creative team in the maintenance needs for
your home.
Mike and Mary decided to start Hood Canal Home Watch because of their desire to work in a
creative team environment while meeting the obvious needs of their community.
Their construction background and experience are a perfect fit with the Home
Watch services they offer.
As
lifetime Washingtonians, Mike and Mary love the mountains, hiking through the
Olympics and boating on Hood Canal. With the four distinct seasons, the
outdoors always draws their hearts. Living close to nature and the beauty of
the old-growth forests in their back yard, combined with the friendliness of
living in a small town, are the reasons that make Hood Canal area such a
special place for them.
