Smoky Mountain Home Watch, of Maggie Valley, NC, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA. We've known Robert and Yolanda O'Brien since last year, when they attended our First Annual Conference. 

Robert (Bob) has an extensive background in law enforcement and security operations. He is a retired Military Policeman and a security-based civil servant who holds many national certifications in residential and commercial crime prevention, physical security, and crime prevention through environmental design. He also holds a national credential as a protection administrator. 

Bob gave a presentation about personal safety and Home Watch at last month's 2nd Annual North American Conference.


Yolanda has been a licensed medical technician for over 25 years, caring for our military service members. She brings a mother’s touch and homemaker's experience to their services.

Home Watch of Nevada, of Las Vegas, has become an Accredited Member of the NHWA!

Home Watch of Nevada, Inc., of Las Vegas, has gained Accreditation in the NHWA.

Owner Alec Jopp owns a condo in a community largely occupied by absentee owners. He saw the need for this Home Watch services and started his company in June of 2014.

Alec has been creating and operating successful businesses for over 30 years is thrilled to use his experience and knowledge in this new venture. He’s looking forward to meeting people from all over the world.

In addition to his prior career as a commercial and residential realtor, Alec has created a wide scope of businesses, all which are still operating today: graffiti removal for commercial clients; national and regional franchise operator; blinds and shutters installations and sales; and power-wash cleaning services for commercial clients. The common factors in each of these businesses are customer service, reliability and honesty. These are the values on which they build each business, including Home Watch of Nevada, Inc.

Alec and his wife, Jackie, enjoy cycling, hiking, and exploring the Las Vegas Valley. They are proud parents of one son in University, who is studying business, and one much-spoiled Pomeranian.

Hudnall's Home Check Services of Fort Myers, FL, has joined the NHWA!

Hudnall’s Home Check Services, of Fort Myers, FL, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA.

Ron Hudnall has lived in Fort Myers since 1960 and is a 28-year veteran of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, where he served as a Road Patrol Deputy, K-9 Handler, Supervisor, and School Resource Officer. He also spent several years in the Crime Prevention Unit, where he educated homeowners on home security and Neighborhood Watch programs.

Ron has been recognized for his work and contributions to the community and has received all sorts of recognition and awards, including the Combat Cross, Florida’s Crime Practitioner of the Year Award, Distinguished Tenure Award, State of Florida K-9 Apprehension of the Year, and Life Achievement Award. He is a graduate of Fort Myers High School and attended Edison Community College before starting at the Sheriff’s Office.

Nancy Hudnall is a long-time resident of Lee County who moved from Long Island, NY, to Florida in 1972. She graduated from Cape Coral High School, did administrative work, and then went to work as a 911 Operator and Dispatcher for six years at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, where she and Ron met.

Nancy has been a Licensed Realtor since 1994. Many of her clients purchased second homes, vacation or investment properties and were in need of someone to watch them and handle any issues that arose. This prompted Nancy to start Hudnall's Home Check Services and, after retiring from the Sheriff's Office, Ron assumed full-time management of the business.

Nancy and Ron have been married since 1986 and are the proud parents of Patrick, who is a Stage Lighting Engineer based in Fort Myers.

Greetings and salutations!

Checkmate Home Watch, of Naples, FL, has gained Accredited Member status for the third consecutive year. Checkmate continues to make tremendous strides, thanks to a strong business plan and a commitment to excellence for clients from owner Jeff Morrow.

Jeff was born in Cleveland, but has lived in Florida long enough to be called a native Floridian. He enjoyed a professional career in golf course property management, serving as Golf Course Superintendent for 22 years at some of the most prestigious country clubs in the state. He brings forward his extensive experience in property management, member relations and project management to Checkmate Home Watch.

Jeff developed Checkmate Home Watch with a "client first" philosophy that provides residents and owners of second homes and condominiums with a company that works full time for them. It is his goal to establish and maintain the trust and confidence of his clients, while representing the highest levels of professionalism for the Home Watch industry. In essence, they provide peace of mind their clients' absence.

Jeff and his wife have lived in Naples for the last 14 years. Proudly maintaining a double-digit handicap while playing military golf (to the left, to the right, left, right,) he still enjoys the game as time permits. Jeff is also an experienced boater and has explored the beaches and coastal waters that grace his seaside city. He and his wife love all the recreational and cultural activities that represent Naples as a special place to live and enjoy vacations.

While You’r Away Services of Phoenix, AZ, has joined the NHWA!

While You’r Away Services of Phoenix, AZ, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA.

In early 2005, friends suggested to owner Eleanor Marsh that Awhatukee (at the southeastern corner of Phoenix) needed a good, customer-oriented pet and Home Watch service--a service that would be customized to the customer's particular needs and delivered with a positive, professional attitude. The company started out as E & R Enterprises, but following intense strategic planning, While You’r Away Services was born in 2011. 

Eleanor offers unique, highly customized, and professionally delivered services for both pets and Home Watch customers. While You'r Away Services calls their initial visit with a prospective client their “Meet and Greet." This gives them the opportunity to meet the client, their pet, and/or their home. At this time, they discuss their particular needs and special requests. While You’r Away’s employees are trained and bonded professionals, having a combined total of over 20 years of field experience. 

Eleanor brings many skills to the business. She has over 41 years’ experience in customer service, with over nine years of field experience. She gained her experience in sales with a major computer company, owning her own interior decorating company, and in the banking industry.

Golden West Home Watch, of Huntington Beach, CA, has joined the NHWA!

Golden West Home Watch, of Huntington Beach, CA, has gained Accredited Member status in the NHWA.

President Peter Yoss had a small moving and removal company on Long Island, New York, from 1974 through 1979. In 1980, he moved his family to California and started Golden West Moving. The growth of the company began slowly, but through their dedication and providing the best service possible, recommendations and repeat business began to expand his little company. Today, Golden West Moving, Inc. is a very large, successful company.

In July of 2014, he felt that the marriage of Home Watch and moving was a good one and launched Golden West Home Watch, which he is very excited and proud to introduce. Peter feels that having established relationships with people in the realty industry is a good basis for networking this type of endeavor.
